The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has received final security approval for its Class 12 re-evaluation portal after cybersecurity experts from IITs completed their last round of testing on Friday
night, reported Indian Express. The IIT teams will continue to monitor the system and remain available if any new issues arise during the re-evaluation process.
The security audit followed a “red team-blue team” approach. The blue team, consisting of CBSE developers, IIT Madras experts, and the Digital India Corporation, worked to fix security problems. The red team, made up of IIT Kanpur experts, tried to find weaknesses and break into the system.
According to officials, the final testing found no major security issues. Any remaining vulnerabilities are minor and are not expected to affect the system.
Earlier, CBSE had delayed the launch of its Post-Result Activities (PRA) portal after experts from two IITs found several serious security flaws in the Board’s digital systems. To improve security, CBSE decided not to use the Coempt EduTeck platform that was used for this year’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. Instead, it moved student and exam data to systems directly controlled by CBSE and redesigned the re-evaluation process.

Meanwhile, photocopies of evaluated Class 12 CBSE answer sheets obtained by students for re-evaluation indicate that Physics has emerged as the subject with the highest number of complaints. Numerous students have reported issues such as missing marks in the On-Screen Marking (OSM) process, excessively strict evaluation, lack of marks for correct steps, and even instances where the wrong answer sheet was uploaded. Several students claimed that fully attempted questions and correctly solved numerical problems received very few marks or none at all. This was followed by Mathematics and Chemistry.
