BTS member SUGA, whose real name is Min Yoongi, briefly spoke about Ramadan during a recent live broadcast, drawing warm reactions from fans around the world. The rapper appeared for a short livestream
on the fan platform Weverse on March 9, where he interacted with fans who had gathered online to celebrate his birthday and hear updates about his upcoming activities.
During the livestream, SUGA noticed several comments mentioning Ramadan in the chat and decided to address them while speaking casually with fans. The moment stood out for viewers, especially those observing the holy month. Amid the interaction, he said, “There are those observing Ramadan and fasting. My understanding is that you can eat once the sun sets during Ramadan, is that wrong? I also have my first meal after sundown.”

Clips of the moment soon began circulating on social media platforms. One fan page shared the snippet on X, quoting the rapper’s words from the livestream. The post read. “Some people are observing Ramadan… I heard they’re fasting. What I know about Ramadan is that you can eat once the sun sets.. no? I basically also eat once a day after the sun sets down.”
For those unaware, BTS has built a massive global fan base over the years, including large communities across the Middle East, Southeast Asia and parts of South Asia.
SUGA’s Philanthropic Gesture
Meanwhile, BTS also marked SUGA’s birthday with a special tribute video that quickly gained traction among fans. The clip highlighted memorable moments from the artist’s journey with the group, including behind-the-scenes glimpses, performances and interactions with fellow members. Fans flooded social media with birthday wishes soon after the video was shared, celebrating both his musical contributions and his personality.
At the same time, reports also highlighted a major philanthropic contribution made by the rapper. SUGA reportedly donated 5 billion Korean won, which is approximately Rs 30–31 crore, to support the creation of a specialised treatment facility for children with autism.
The donation funded the Min Yoongi Treatment Centre at Severance Hospital in Seoul, a facility designed to provide advanced therapy and care for children with autism spectrum disorder. The centre focuses on offering treatments that support the development and well-being of young patients.
