Some homes impress with scale, others with design. Armaan Jain’s Worli residence did something rarer; it told a story. When filmmaker Farah Khan and her cook Dilip stepped inside, they weren’t just entering
a celebrity home, but a deeply personal space layered with memory, inheritance and quiet luxury. Shared on Farah’s YouTube channel, the visit offered an intimate glimpse into how the Kapoor legacy continued to live on, not behind glass, but as part of everyday life.
Alongside Armaan Jain, his wife Anissa Malhotra revealed her own playful relationship with luxury, casually mentioning that Gucci luggage doubled up as chic living room storage – a moment that drew Farah’s quick-witted approval.

A White Canvas For A Storied Past
The living room unfolded in calming whites, a deliberate choice that allowed history to take centre stage. From plush sofas to the dining setup, the space felt cohesive and restrained, allowing statement pieces to quietly command attention. What elevated the room beyond aesthetic perfection was its provenance.
Several decor elements had been sourced from Raj and Krishna Kapoor’s legendary Deonar Cottage in Chembur, a home that was sold in 2023 for a reported Rs 100 crore. Jain pointed out a white-and-blue floral rug beneath Farah’s feet, revealing that it had once belonged to Krishna Kapoor’s bedroom. Nearby, a golden lamp, a white cabinet tucked beside a planter, vibrant paintings and even a chandelier had also travelled from Deonar Cottage to their new address.

The result was a seamless blend of old and new – antiques carrying emotional weight placed alongside contemporary fixtures that kept the home current.
A Living Archive Of Kapoor History
If the living room reflected elegance, a quieter corner of the house revealed reverence. Known among family as a ‘chilled den,’ the space was dressed in royal blue walls and grounded with a monochrome carpet. It functioned almost like a private museum.

A vintage wood-and-glass cabinet displayed memorabilia from RK Studios: old cameras, keys from Deonar Cottage, Archie Comics, Krishna Kapoor’s phone diary filled with handwritten numbers of industry greats, and even her personal recipes. These were not curated for spectacle but preserved with affection, reflecting Jain’s deep emotional connection to his grandparents.
Where Family And Food Take Centre Stage
The visit became even more personal when Reema Jain joined the gathering, warmly interacting with Dilip and joking about his resemblance to Charlie Chaplin – the actor who famously inspired Raj Kapoor. The day concluded not with formality, but with food: a lavish spread of yakhni pulao, maa ki dal, junglee maas, paya and pav, reinforcing what the home truly represented.
At its core, Armaan Jain’s residence stood as proof that true luxury lay not in opulence alone, but in the ability to live with legacy – comfortably, lovingly and without pretence.
