Shakti Kapoor has dismissed claims that his daughter Shraddha Kapoor is not getting any work, especially compared to actresses like Alia Bhatt and Ananya Panday. Shakti Kapoor mentioned that Shraddha is selective
about her work but charges more money.
Shakti said on the Powerful Humans YouTube channel, “Woh picturein hi kam karti hai. Best karti hai. Par paisa zyada leti hai. In sabse zyada paisa leti hai. She does just one or two films a year (She does very few films. She picks the best films, and charges more than all these people).”
Shakti added, “Bahut ziddi hai… She is very stubborn and does what her heart says. She has certain ethics and follows them strictly… We share a great relationship. Sometimes we fight, sometimes we plan holidays, sometimes we discuss films. I am very proud of her – her performances are outstanding. She is a very fine actor.”
Shraddha Kapoor’s most notable recent film is the horror-comedy Stree 2, released in August 2024. In this Amar Kaushik-directed sequel, she reprised her beloved role alongside Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi and others. The film continued the blend of scares and laughs that made the original Stree a hit and became one of the highest-grossing female-led Hindi films, earning huge worldwide box office figures.
Despite the blockbuster success of Stree 2, Shraddha did not have a theatrical release in 2025, making it a relatively quiet year for her on the big screen. Reports note that she took time off to develop new projects, read scripts, and plan her next moves rather than appear in multiple films. Though 2025 didn’t see new releases from her, several projects are underway or reported in development.
Shraddha began shooting a biographical film titled Eetha, directed by Laxman Utekar, where she portrays legendary Maharashtrian Lavani artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. This marks one of her most performance-intensive roles to date, involving dramatic preparation — including weight gain and intense dance scenes — and confirms her interest in content-driven, character-rich cinema. In this stage of her career, Shraddha appears to be more selective about roles. Rather than constant releases, she’s been choosing distinctive and diverse projects.
