Suniel Shetty is currently basking in the success of his son Ahan Shetty’s recent release, Border 2. Also starring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Dhawan, the film has emerged as a box office success.
However, the veteran actor is yet to watch it. Suniel had earlier said he would only see the film once it crosses the Rs 500 crore mark, and nearly a month after its release, it hasn’t reached that milestone. Keeping his word, he has stayed away from the screening so far.
Suniel Shetty says he hasn’t seen a single frame of Border 2
In January 2026, Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh, hit the theatres, and it resonated well with the audience. Everyone’s performances were highly praised for their performances. Amid the love and appreciation, Suniel recently spoke to ABP News and spoke about not watching the film yet. The Hera Pheri actor said, “Because I had decided long ago, even before the film, that since it’s a patriotic film, it should definitely cross Rs 500 crore. And I had set it in my mind that I will watch it only after that.”
According to Sacnilk, Border 2 has collected around Rs 447 crore at the global box office so far. Suniel further said, “I think, for a father’s love, God will ensure we reach the Rs 500 crore mark. It was just a thought, an emotion, and I have stuck to it. And just so you know, I haven’t seen a single frame of the film yet.”
During the same conversation, he went on to reveal that he doesn’t prefer to watch his son-in-law, KL Rahul, play on the field. He said that he doesn’t watch matches at all, despite being an avid cricket fan. He also revealed that he doesn’t even listen to commentary. Shetty added, “I understand what’s happening from my wife, who’s watching and reacting in the next room. I do watch highlights later, because by then everything has settled, otherwise, I get extremely anxious. He’s my child, and we just want him to do well. It’s also because of the age of constant commentary. The comments made on you never affect you, but the ones made on our children have an impact. From that point of view, I don’t watch the game live.”
