Mumbai concerts thrive on spectacle, but every once in a while, a moment unfolds that feels effortlessly iconic. AP Dhillon’s packed Mumbai show at BKC’s Jio World Centre had already hit a fever pitch
when Sanjay Dutt made an unannounced appearance on stage. The roar was instant. Yet, beyond the surprise cameo and thunderous applause, it was Dutt’s quietly commanding style that truly lingered – anchored by a luxury timepiece that spoke volumes without demanding attention.
True to his enduring persona, Sanjay Dutt kept his outfit pared back and classic. A black kurta-pyjama set the tone. It was timeless, unfussy, and deeply rooted in Indian menswear. But it was his choice of watch that elevated the look into a masterclass in understated opulence. On his wrist sat the Rolex Sky-Dweller, one of the Swiss brand’s most technically sophisticated creations, reportedly valued at around Rs 55 lakh.

In a setting dominated by flashing lights and high-decibel performances, the Sky-Dweller stood out precisely because it didn’t try to compete; it complemented.
Crafted in Oystersteel and white gold, the Rolex Sky-Dweller is designed for global citizens – frequent travellers who appreciate engineering as much as aesthetics. The watch features a dual-time zone display and an annual calendar that intelligently distinguishes between 30- and 31-day months, requiring adjustment only once a year.

Its most distinctive feature, the Ring Command bezel, allows the wearer to control multiple functions with seamless precision – a technical flourish that aligns perfectly with Dutt’s larger-than-life yet controlled presence. The choice felt intentional, signalling authority, legacy, and a taste for complexity beneath the surface.
Interestingly, Sanjay Dutt wasn’t the only one making waves in the watch world that evening. Host and headliner AP Dhillon delivered his own horological flex with an ultra-rare Richard Mille RM 53-02 Blue Sapphire. Sculpted from a single block of sapphire crystal, the transparent blue timepiece glowed under concert lights, carrying an estimated price tag close to Rs 54 crore and a near-mythical rarity.
While AP Dhillon’s watch embodied futuristic excess and modern bravado, Sanjay Dutt’s Sky-Dweller represented timeless luxury and seasoned confidence. Together, they offered a fascinating contrast – old-school gravitas meeting new-age extravagance – making the concert not just a musical high, but a defining moment for Indian celebrity style and high-end horology.
