In a recent Instagram video, the creator documented his first visit to The Rameshwaram Cafe, a popular spot known for its bustling crowds and authentic South Indian cuisine. Rather than opting for a familiar dish, he did what many first-timers hesitate to do—asked the staff for their recommendation. Their choice? The Mudde Meal: a wholesome Karnataka-style platter served on trays.

The clip opens with him entering the bustling cafe, visibly excited and curious. He mentions it was his first time at The Rameshwaram Cafe before the food arrived. What followed was a feast that looked vibrant and traditional. The mudde meal featured plain rice, a ragi ball, masala vada, aromatic sambar, peppery rasam, kosambari, pickle, curd and chilli—a comforting South Indian thali. He wrapped up the experience with a steaming cup of strong filter coffee.
Creator Had A Feedback Too
After enjoying the meal, the Japanese creator gave his feedback. He described the vegetarian platter as “surprisingly good”, especially considering it cost just Rs 200. In his caption, he admitted to a misconception many people quietly hold. “Asked locals what to order in the standing vegetarian curry in Bangalore. Honestly, I underestimated vegetarian food. With nearly 20k Google reviews, this has to be one of the top veg spots in India,” he wrote.
Only Appreciation For Creator In Comments
The Internet responded enthusiastically to the clip, with one saying, “You asked for traditional and got the final boss of Karnataka.” Another added, “Finally, a foreigner who is not broke and eats at a decent location.”
Several users appreciated his approach. “His suggestion is so accurate,” wrote one, while another noted, “Literally everybody speaks English here. Feel comfortable asking them anything. They are gonna be more than willing to listen and help.”
Food recommendations also poured in, with one user advising him to “try Meghana biriyani,” while he was in Bengaluru.
