Star Indian cricketer Nitish Rana was shedding a few tears after his fifty in the Delhi Premier League, as he looked up at the sky, remembering his mother, who passed away earlier this month.
Rana brought
up his fifty in just 27 deliveries, reaching the milestone with a boundary off the third ball of the ninth over of West Delhi’s innings. He then dedicated his half-century to his late mother, Satish, who passed away on August 7 after an illness.
Rana also wore a jersey bearing ‘N Satish’ on the back as a tribute to his late mother. Overcome with emotion, he was consoled by opposition cricketers and the umpire.

“Mumma is here with you,” Rana’s wife Saachi Marwah commented on the post.
Rana was the standout batter for the West Delhi Lions, smashing 60 off 33 deliveries, including four boundaries and six sixes. But the rest of the batting lineup struggled as the Lions were bowled out for 169 in the final over.
The Lions lost opener Ankit Kumar early, but Rana and Krish Yadav steadied the innings with an 83-run stand for the second wicket. Rana looked in fine touch, scoring 60 off 33 deliveries before his dismissal sparked a collapse.
Krish Yadav followed Rana back to the pavilion soon after, scoring 25 off 26 deliveries, as the Lions started to lose wickets in quick succession. Ayush Doseja attempted to steady the innings with a 27 off a 20-ball innings, but found little support at the other end.
Anshuman Hooda finished with four wickets, while Vivek Tiwari also impressed with 2/16 in three overs as the Superstarz bowled out the Lions for 169.
Chasing 170, South Delhi Superstarz made light work of the target. Openers Sanat Sangwan and Anmol Sharma seized control from the outset, putting the Lions’ bowling attack under constant pressure.
