Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar Connected To Vicky Kaushal’s Uri?
In the 2019 film Uri, one scene shows Vicky Kaushal’s character Vihaan meeting Air Force Pilot Flight Lieutenant Seerat Kaur, whose Army officer husband was martyred in an ambush. Seerat, played by Kirti Kulhari, features in a scene from Uri that has now gone viral after the release of Dhurandhar. In the scene, she reveals the name of her late husband: Jaskirat Singh Rangi of the Punjab Regiment, who lost his life during the Naushera Sector ambush.
Meanwhile, in Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh plays Hamza, a man picked by Indian intelligence chief (R Madhavan) to infiltrate Rehman Dakait’s gang in Pakistan’s Lyari. In the film’s climax, we find out that Ranveer’s Hamza is actually a convict named Jaskirat Singh Rangi, sent on the mission to redeem himself. Fans were quick to join the dots, and they speculated whether the shared name could hint at a connection between the two films. One netizen wrote, “Dhurandhar and Vicky Kaushal Uri are connected, with Ranveer Singh’s character Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Hamza) introduced in Uri. He’s an Indian spy who infiltrates Pakistan’s underworld to take down a gangster-ISI nexus,” while another one wrote, “Can’t be a coincidence. Both films are directed by Aditya Dhar.”

However, many fans were not convinced and they pointed out that the timelines did not match. Many felt that the makers have perhaps kept the same name by chance, and that there may be no connection. While it’s just a fan theory, the real answer about Ranveer’s character history will be revealed in Dhurandhar 2.
Dhurandhar 2
The second part of the film will release a few months later, on March 19, 2026. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what’s in store for them in Dhurandhar 2. Much to their delight, Ranveer Singh has dropped a hint about what the audience can expect. His co-actor Danish Pandor, who played Uzair Baloch in Dhurandhar, penned a note sharing his experience working alongside Ranveer in the film. In his response, Ranveer teased that there’s much more in store for the audience in part 2 of the film! “Imagine what will happen when they (audience) experience part two!” he wrote.
Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in the lead, along with Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna and R. Madhavan.
