Some of us love keeping things away for “someday.” We are sure many of you have that dress still in its original cover, shoes bought for a party that never happened, and a fancy perfume waiting for the
“right” moment. It feels smart at the time, like we are protecting something special. But sometimes, in trying to save joy, we end up missing it.
That is exactly what a post shared by an Instagram user, Aakanksha, brought to light. In a now-viral video, she shared the story of a perfume her mother won in a quiz competition in 1995. It was a Charlie spray mist perfume. The box was still sealed after all these years. On top of the packaging, the line read, “The world belongs to Charlie spray mist perfume.” It looked almost untouched. Aakanksha shared that her mother had saved it for a “special occasion.”
Nearly 28 years later, Aakanksha decided to open it. The outer packaging was in perfect shape. But when she checked the bottle inside, it was empty. The perfume had dried up with time.
The side note read, “Found a sealed perfume my mom won in a quiz competition in 1995. She saved it for a ‘special occasion.’ Twenty-eight years later… The packaging was perfect. The bottle was empty. The day never came.”

The post went viral with thousands of likes and many people sharing emotional reactions in the comments. But it also left some viewers curious. What about the perfume itself? Is “Charlie” still around?
The Perfume In The Video
The perfume shown in Aakanksha’s video was a Charlie spray mist, won by her mother in 1995. The vintage packaging had the line, “The world belongs to Charlie spray mist perfume” printed on top. While that exact version and old-style box are no longer available, the brand itself has not disappeared.
Charlie is a fragrance range by Revlon, and it is still being sold today in different variants.
Can You Still Buy Charlie Perfumes?
Yes, you can. Revlon continues to sell fragrances under the “Charlie” range. On the brand’s official website, you can find several options, including EDT perfumes and body sprays. The products are grouped by colour themes. There is Charlie Red, Charlie Blue and Charlie Gold.
Each variant has its own scent profile, but the branding still carries the same classic Charlie identity that many people remember.
How Much Do They Cost?
Without discounts, the Charlie range usually costs between Rs 750 and Rs 1,170, depending on the product type and size. Prices may vary slightly across platforms and during sale periods.
Where Can You Buy Them?
Apart from Revlon’s official website, Charlie fragrances are also available on popular platforms like Amazon, BigBasket, Myntra and Nykaa. This makes them easy to find both online and during sale events.
So while the 1995 bottle in Aakanksha’s video may have dried up with time, the Charlie legacy clearly has not.
