Deepika Padukone gave fans a touching glimpse into her daughter Dua’s first birthday. The actress, who welcomed Dua Padukone Singh on September 8, 2024, posted a beautifully simple photo of a homemade
chocolate cake, writing, “My love language? Baking a cake for my daughter’s 1st birthday!”
In a photo caption earlier, Deepika had revealed that choosing the name Dua, which means “prayer”, took them nearly two months post-birth — a thoughtful decision that she says “felt like a beautiful summary of what she means to us”.
Dua has quickly become the focal point of both parents’ lives. Ranveer Singh said of Deepika’s new journey into motherhood: she’s “the best version of herself”, and “everything in Deepika’s life now revolves around Dua”
Though fans are curious, Deepika and Ranveer are clear about safeguarding Dua’s privacy. Deepika recently said they won’t be revealing her face anytime soon, prioritising a grounded childhood away from the spotlight. But things didn’t quite go as planned.

The clip, filmed at Mumbai International Airport, clearly captured the one-year-old sitting on Deepika’s lap inside a buggy, sparking outrage among fans who called it a “shameful invasion of privacy.”
In the viral video, Deepika could be seen sternly asking the person recording to stop. Until now, paparazzi had respected the couple’s request to keep Dua away from cameras. Netizens quickly called out the incident, urging the video to be removed.
Deepika and Ranveer, who tied the knot in 2018, welcomed Dua on September 8 last year. They had formally introduced her name during Diwali, writing, “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers.” Though the couple once invited paparazzi home to meet their daughter, they have held back from releasing her pictures, choosing instead to do it on their own terms.
