Pop icon Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce may be adding a surprising location to their list of properties: Cleveland, Ohio. According to local news outlet Scene, the couple, both
35, recently toured “at least two opulent homes” in one of the city’s upscale suburbs. Their visit coincided with a lunch date at JoJo’s in the nearby village of Chagrin Falls.
“Multiple sources have confirmed to Scene that Swift and Kelce visited at least two opulent homes currently for sale in Northeast Ohio’s tony eastside suburbs on that visit,” the publication reported. The area is known for grand estates and quiet, exclusive communities.
Neither Swift nor Kelce has addressed the rumours, but Kelce’s ties to the region are well known; he was born and raised in Cleveland Heights, just a short drive away.
A Return To Travis Kelce’s Roots?
While Cleveland’s median list price in June this year was just $139,000, the neighbourhoods Swift and Kelce reportedly visited are a different story, as per Realtor.com.
In these high-end suburbs, million-dollar homes are the norm, with some listings topping $4 million. One standout property in Hunting Valley is on the market for $18 million, Realtor.com states.
Chagrin Falls, where the pair enjoyed their lunch date, also boasts several multimillion-dollar homes, with many priced around $2.5 million and above. Local real estate agent David Ayers described the area’s elite suburbs as “very stealth wealth” and “old money,” calling them “an amazingly kept secret” as quoted by The New York Post.
Retirement Rumours Swirl
News of the house-hunting trip has set social media buzzing, with some fans wondering if Travis Kelce could be planning for life after football. However, the tight end quickly shot down retirement talk at the Chiefs’ training camp on August 6.
“Man, ask me that when I retire,” he told reporters when asked about his “fondest training camp memory” in the event this season was his last, an Associated Press report stated.
Travis Kelce has been laser-focused on the upcoming season, even spending the summer in Florida for an intense training program aimed at bringing the Chiefs another Super Bowl win.
During his Florida stay, Kelce reportedly lived in a $20 million gated-community mansion, dedicating his time to fitness and recovery. Chiefs coach Andy Reid has been impressed, telling reporters, “He’s svelte right now. He looks like he’s 20… He’s worked hard to get to this spot here,” as per The Associated Press.
Taylor Swift’s Own Home Project
While Travis Kelce trains, Taylor Swift has been enjoying some downtime since wrapping up her record-breaking Eras Tour in December. Alongside spending time with Kelce, she is also focused on a major renovation of her Rhode Island mansion, which she purchased in 2013 for $17.75 million.
The planned upgrades include adding a new bedroom and converting another into an expanded suite, increasing the home’s total space by 400 square feet. Work is being carried out by Rhode Island–based contractor David W. Shafovaloff, who specialises in “high-end residential and commercial construction.”
Whether their Cleveland visit was a serious house-hunting mission or just a casual look remains unknown, but the buzz it created among fans suggests that wherever Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce go next, people will be watching closely.
