Lucknow, May 26 (PTI) Banda, where the mercury climbed to 47.4 degrees Celsius, 3.8 degrees above normal, remained the hottest place in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, the met office said.
The state capital Lucknow
recorded a maximum temperature of 42.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 28.3 degrees Celsius, it said.
Orai recorded the maximum temperature of 45.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Jhansi 45.5 degrees Celsius, Prayagraj 45.4 degrees Celsius, Agra 45.3 degrees Celsius, and Hamirpur 45.2 degrees Celsius, the meteorological department said.
It also warned that a heatwave to severe heatwave is very likely at isolated places during daytime over parts of Uttar Pradesh.
