The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday hit out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her recent comments questioning whether the party had a “blueprint ready” for “another Pahalgam attack
before the election”.
The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader’s remarks, BJP said, were aimed at appeasing its voter base and reflected an “anti-Hindu” stance.
Addressing a poll rally at Bethuadahari in Nadia district, Banerjee referred to Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s threat to target Kolkata, asking why Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had addressed a rally in Cooch Behar the previous day, did not respond.

“Pakistan’s defence minister said they will target Kolkata. Why didn’t Narendra Modi say we will take strong action? What is the reason? Blueprint ready? Another Pahalgam before the election?” she asked.
Mamata further criticised PM Modi for addressing election rallies in West Bengal without raising Pakistan’s threat.

“You (PM) target Bengal during election rallies; but when Pakistan talks of attacking Bengal, you do not utter a word. You should resign,” she said, adding, “Just like we do not accept any threat to the country, we will also not take the threat to Kolkata lying down.”
The BJP responded to Banerjee’s comments. National spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari shared a video of the TMC leader’s comments on X, writing, “WB CM Mamata Banerjee calls the barbaric Pahalgam Terror Attack ‘A script blueprint’! Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday warned India that it would respond with a strike in Kolkata to any “future misadventures”.
“If India tries to stage any false flag operation this time, then God-willingly, we will take it to Kolkata,” Asif had said while talking to reporters at his hometown of Sialkot.
