Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are officially husband and wife and his caption explaining why he married her is every bit as romantic as the stunning pictures from their big day. Vijay shared
a series of gorgeous wedding photos and opened up in a way that felt deeply personal, writing that he hadn’t married her because it was glamorous or expected — he married her because he simply missed her!
Not in some over-the-top way, but in those everyday moments: meals would’ve felt more wholesome if she were sitting across from him; workouts seemed more fun and less of a chore when she was beside him; his days just felt better with her presence. And in that realisation that sense of comfort and home that she brought him, he knew exactly what he wanted for forever. He wrote that he didn’t just choose a partner that day, he chose his best friend.
In the wedding photos, Vijay and Rashmika could be seen dressed in traditional South Indian wedding outfits. Rashmika can be seen wearing a rich gold and orange silk saree paired with heavy temple jewellery, including layered necklaces, jhumkas, bangles and a maang tikka. Her hair was styled neatly in a classic bridal look. Vijay could be seen in a white veshti with a red silk shawl draped over his shoulder, along with traditional jewellery and flower garlands.
In one close-up picture, the two stood close, smiling as Rashmika held Vijay’s face — a romantic, intimate freeze-frame of joy. In another, they laughed during a ritual beside a large silver pot, family beaming in the background. A black-and-white shot captured Rashmika hugging Vijay tightly with her eyes closed on the mandap.
Vijay and Rashmika have opted for an intimate wedding with close friends and family members attending their big day. The guestlist includes Sandeep Reddy Vanga, director-actor Tharun Bhascker, Eesha Rebba, Kalyani Priyadarshan and stylist Shyavya Varma. Once the newlyweds return to Hyderabad, they will host a grand reception for their industry friends.
