Shah Rukh Khan is set to return to the set of Siddharth Anand’s next feature film, King, with filming scheduled to restart on December 20. The upcoming phase will focus on some of the project’s most demanding
action sequences, marking a crucial leg of production.
The film has been positioned as an intense, mass-appeal action drama, and also marks Suhana Khan’s theatrical debut. The project has drawn attention ever since a brief teaser was released on November 2, coinciding with Shah Rukh’s birthday.
According to industry reports, this new schedule will involve advanced choreography and high-precision camera setups, requiring extensive rehearsals. Production units are expected to work round the clock to execute the complex set pieces.
Earlier this year, Shah Rukh spoke about the film at the Locarno Film Festival, saying, “It is an action drama; it’s a Hindi film. It’ll be interesting. I’ve been wanting to do a film like that for some time, and I really wanted to do a film like this for seven or eight years. We just felt Sujoy would be the right choice, because we wanted it to be very emotionally correct. We are all coming together to make a cool, massive, action, emotional film.”
He later shared more details during an Abu Dhabi appearance, stating, “I will be shooting it for a couple of months. My director, Siddharth Anand, is very strict. He made ‘Pathaan’ also. He has asked me not to reveal what we are doing. I can’t tell you, but I can assure you that it will be entertaining. You will enjoy it.”
Meanwhile, a clip circulating online recently sparked speculation that a romantic song featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone from King had leaked. The visuals, showing the pair embracing and singing to the line, “Mai toh behak gaya, mai toh behak gaya, tere ishq mein janam behak gaya,” prompted significant discussion on social media. However, it was later clarified that the footage was not from the film.
According to a response attributed to xAI Grok, “No, the video in that X post is not an official leaked song from Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie King. It’s a fan-made edit that’s gone viral for its humorous and over-the-top vibe.”

The film features Suhana Khan in a lead role alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Actor Abhay Verma, recently seen in Munjya, also plays a key character.
Shah Rukh had taken a short break from shooting earlier but is now expected to be on set for multiple months as the production enters its action-heavy phase. The film continues to be one of the most anticipated Hindi releases currently in development.
