More About Farhan’s Debut
Farhan Akhtar will be seen playing the role of Pandit Ravi Shankar, whose friendship with the band’s guitarist George Harrison in the 1960s left a lasting imprint on the band’s music. It was Shankar who introduced Harrison to Indian classical music and spirituality.
Ravi Shankar didn’t just introduce the Beatles to a new sound; he taught them discipline, seriousness, and the idea that music could carry moral weight without relying on spectacle. His mentorship of George Harrison led to the sitar being featured in several Beatles tracks, fostering a cross-cultural exchange that reshaped the band’s evolving sound during that era.
