Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War has been in the headlines ever since the project was announced, but the movie has been getting delayed. A recent report suggests that the movie is now eyeing a Diwali
2026 release. Amid this, the movie’s actress Alia Bhatt has called SLB’s Love and War a “very special film” and spoke about it.
Speaking to ET, Bhatt shared, “It’s a very special film. We’ve been shooting it throughout the year, and it never feels like enough. You always want one more day, one more moment, one more scene where you’re just jamming the energy.”
The actress further continued and spoke about working with Bhansali, sharing, “Working with Sanjay sir is one of my most treasured experiences because of the way he brings his magic to every single moment. But it’s also deeply collaborative. The energy on set is very quiet and focused. We come in, we work hard, and everyone brings something different to the table. Of course, the final magic wand is always in Sanjay sir’s hands. It is one of the most fulfilling creative experiences I’ve had on a film set.”
About Love and War Delay
If a recent report by Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, Love and War is all set to be delayed again. Reportedly, while Bhansali had planned for Love and War to release on Eid 2026, the film’s shoot has now been extended to May 2026. “Ranbir, Alia, and Vicky have blocked their calendars till May 2026 now. All their prior commitments stand delayed due to the increase in shoot days for Love and War,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.
Reportedly, Ranbir had requested Bhansali to release Love and War in June, but that also won’t be possible now. “There’s no way for Love & War to release in June. Bhansali is now making an attempt to bring it to the big screen in August or September 2026. A date will be decided shortly. This has left some of the members of the Ramayana team disappointed, as they were hoping for a gap of at least six months between Love & War and Ramayana. The delay in shoots has also resulted in an increase in the budget for Love & War,” the insider added.
