Dogs are often called humans’ best friends and a brave Cocker Spaniel mix named Manchis from Peru recently proved why. The dog became a hero after biting a dynamite that was thrown into the front yard
of a house. Sadly, Manchis got injured while protecting the family of 10 people and three more dogs, as her vocal cords were damaged and she can no longer bark.
The incident took place at the home of Carlos Alberto Mesias Zarate, a local journalist. While the exact reason why the dynamite was thrown is unclear, Zarate believes it may be because of his work.
Brave Cocker Spaniel Saves Family From Dynamite
According to NBC News, CCTV footage captured an individual in a black outfit at night throwing the explosive into the front yard of Zarate’s house before running away. Seeing the danger, the female dog bravely grabbed the dynamite in her mouth.
Miraculously, the explosive did not detonate while in her mouth. Reports reveal that the device was generally used for landmines.
This is Manchis. When someone threw a stick of dynamite into the entryway of her home earlier this week, she miraculously extinguished the lit fuse with her teeth before it detonated, preventing a massive tragedy. Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Good girl. She deserves all the treats.”
Another shared, “Someone actually threw dynamite? What a worthless piece of human garbage. People like that make me sick. So glad the pup and the family are safe.”
“A fuse meant for destruction was extinguished by devotion. Manchis is proof that the purest heroes are often the ones we overlook,” a comment read.
An individual stated, “Extinguishing dynamite with her teeth, unbelievable. So glad she’s safe and playing.”
One more added, “What an intelligent and brave dog, that flame probably hurt the baby’s mouth a little, but that’s how crazy strong they are, they feel danger and they don’t care if they get hurt to prevent it, I wish they weren’t as selfless because they also deserve to be protected just as much.”
Family Worried About Dog’s Safety And Medical Care
Carlos Alberto Mesias Zarate explained that he is now worried about Manchis’ safety after the incident. He believes the attack may have been related to his work as a journalist and quickly called the police when it happened. The authorities have already detained the suspect. Zarate also shared that Manchis’ vocal cords were injured and it’s difficult for her to bark. The family will need assistance to cover the dog’s medical care and recovery.
