If you thought the excitement around Shakira’s return to India couldn’t get bigger, think again. The global pop star has added another concert to her upcoming India tour after ticket demand went through
the roof, giving fans one more chance to watch the superstar live.
The Colombian singer will now perform an additional show in Mumbai on April 11 at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. The newly added date comes alongside her previously announced Mumbai concert on April 10 at the same venue.
The extra show was first spotted by fans online over the weekend after an additional listing appeared on the District by Zomato app. While the event has been listed, ticket sales for the April 11 performance have not yet opened, and organisers have not announced when bookings will begin.
According to organisers, the decision to add another concert followed what they described as “unprecedented demand” for tickets.
With the new date, Shakira’s India tour will now include three shows — two in Mumbai and one in Delhi. The singer is also scheduled to perform in the capital on April 15 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Fans quickly took to social media to celebrate the news. “Now we have 3 shows in India. 2 in Mumbai & 1 in Delhi. This is going to be huge. Can’t wait,” one excited fan wrote, while another posted, “New Date for @Shakira in India. Obviously only the Queen Can.”
Tickets for the concerts in Mumbai and Delhi first went on sale on March 1 through the District platform. Prices for the Mumbai shows range widely, with general admission tickets starting at ₹6,000 and premium packages going up to ₹32,000.
Shakira’s upcoming performances will mark her first major concert appearance in India in nearly 19 years. The last time she performed in the country was in 2007 during her Oral Fixation Tour, also in Mumbai.
Announcing the tour earlier, the singer shared her excitement about reconnecting with her Indian audience. She said, “Performing in India has always been special to me, and I’m excited to connect with my fans across Mumbai and Delhi. The tour is about standing together to ensure every child has access to the nutrition they need to thrive.”
The concerts are being organised as part of the initiative by Feeding India in partnership with District by Zomato. This year’s edition will also be the first time the Feeding India Concert takes place across multiple cities.
Shakira, a Grammy-winning artist who also holds several Guinness World Records titles, is known for chartbusters such as Hips Don’t Lie, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), Whenever, Wherever and She Wolf.
