18 Killed In Saudi-Houthi Conflict
The conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi rebels stems from Yemen’s civil war, in which Saudi Arabia led a military coalition supporting the internationally recognised Yemeni government against the Iran-backed Houthis. Although a truce and diplomatic efforts helped reduce hostilities, tensions have persisted, with attacks targeting Saudi territory at various points. Recent attacks on Saudi airports have raised fresh security concerns, prompting many airlines to suspend flights.
Amid recent escalation in the conflict, Houthis launched missile and drone attacks on Saudi airports and oil infrastructure. So far, 18 people have been killed in the attacks on airports in the Kingdom, disrupting aviation operations, including the closure of Riyadh’s airport. The attacks have prompted Saudi Arabia to warn of a strong response to Houthis.
