Some places are known not for how busy they are, but for how rare and special they feel. Hussainiwala Railway Station in Punjab is one such place, where trains do not run every day like usual stations.
This station sees a train only twice in a year, making it quite different from most railway routes. A video explaining this unique detail has caught people’s attention and sparked curiosity.
A Station That Sees Trains Twice A Year
In the clip, a man stands near a train and shares an interesting fact. He says, “Did you know that the train standing behind me, and the very location where I am currently standing, receives a train only twice a year? Yes, I am referring to the Hussainiwala
Railway Station.”
He explains that the station is located between Ferozepur and the Hussainiwala border in Punjab. It is the last stop on this route, and no trains go beyond this point.
Special Train Runs On Two Important Days
The man then shows the station and the train standing there. He says, “Let me give you a quick glimpse of what the Hussainiwala Railway Station looks like. As you can see, there is a train standing right here. This is the very train I just arrived on from Ferozepur
Cantt, and it is a special service. It operates on only two days out of the entire year.”
He further adds, “One of those days is today, March 23. And what makes March 23 significant here in Hussainiwala? People travel from far and wide to visit this place. It is the day observed as the Martyrdom Day of Bhagat Singh; consequently, people flock to this border region from great distances. This special train is run once a year on a day like today, and the second time it runs is on April 13, on the occasion of Vaisakhi.”
Towards the end, he explains how the station marks the end of the railway track. “The Hussainiwala Railway Station is, quite literally, the absolute last station on the line. The train arrived from this direction, and it will depart back in the same direction. Take a good look, this is, indeed, the very end of the railway line. No trains travel beyond this point; from here on out, it is strictly a road route,” he says.
