A new adaptation of the epic Mahabharata, titled Mahabharat–Ek Dharmayudh, has taken the internet by storm. The show, created entirely through artificial intelligence, has sparked curiosity and criticism
from audiences and filmmakers alike.
The first episode, released on October 25, focuses on the birth of Prince Devvrat, also known as Bheeshma, to King Shantanu and Goddess Ganga.
Viewers Spotted An Odd Detail
Currently streaming on JioHotstar, the show’s attempt at innovation has been marred by a glaring error. In a scene featuring Ganga and her child inside a royal chamber, viewers noticed a modern bedside table with drawers sitting next to an otherwise period-perfect setup. The table was only visible for a few seconds, but it was enough for eagle-eyed viewers to point it out.
How Did the Internet React To It
The internet can’t get enough of the blunder, with users sharing memes and jokes about the modern furniture in ancient Hastinapur. In a post on X, one user shared the screenshot of the scene, writing, “Watching AI Mahabharata on Jio Hotstar… I’m dying at the bedside desk.”

Another quipped, “Missing a wireless charger.” Some users felt that the AI rendition lacked authenticity and was “not well made.” While a few viewers appreciated the creativity and enthusiasm behind the show, others felt uncomfortable watching it with family due to some scenes.
A user posted, “Not well made… very carelessly. Appreciate the enthusiasm but sorry… this is not perfect. The AI company should have worked more on it.”
“AI Mahabharata is a strange combination. Have to wonder if the AI changes the story or just makes the old lessons look different. Feels like a very 2025 way to watch it,” another commented. “Don’t know but I felt really uncomfortable watching it with family and had to get out. Some scenes are very weird,” an individual posted.
