Neetu Kapoor remembered her late husband and actor Rishi Kapoor via an emotional Instagram post on Thursday. The actress took to the stories section of the social media platform and shared a video of their
song ‘Jaan Meri Rooth Gayee’ from the 1977 film Doosara Aadmi. In the caption of her post, Neetu wrote, ‘In remembrance.’
Rishi and Neetu worked together on several films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Khel Khel Mein, Rafoo Chakkar, Kabhi Kabhie and Besharam among others. The two got married on January 22, 1980, and have two children, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor.
However, Rishi Kapoor passed away in April 2020, at the age of 67 after a two-year fight with leukaemia. In one of the interviews, Riddhima had admitted that the tragic incident brought her family closer as they all began looking after each other a little bit more.
Last year, on Rishi Kapoor’s birth anniversary, Neetu Kapoor honoured him in the most heartfelt way. The actress, who frequently shares cherished memories of the legendary actor, posted a sweet video tribute on the special day. Accompanying the clip, she wrote, “You will always remain in our hearts. Happy birthday.”
The clip shared by Neetu Kapoor was from Rishi Kapoor’s popular stage show Khullam Khulla – Live with Rishi Kapoor, based on his autobiography of the same name. In the video, the actor was seen performing a stage enactment of excerpts from his book, winning the audience over with his storytelling and charm. The show highlighted anecdotes from both his personal life and professional journey, making it memorable for fans even today.
