After a successful run in theatres, Cocktail 2 is now set to make its digital debut. The romantic drama, headlined by Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon, will begin streaming this month,
giving audiences another chance to catch one of the year’s biggest Hindi releases from the comfort of their homes.
Directed by Homi Adajania, the film serves as a spiritual successor to the 2012 hit Cocktail. While it retains the emotional complexities and youthful energy associated with the original, it tells an entirely new story with a fresh set of characters.
Cocktail 2 OTT Release Date Confirmed
The makers have confirmed that Cocktail 2 will premiere on Netflix on August 14, 2026.
The film first arrived in cinemas on June 19 and went on to emerge as one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. Although critical opinion remained divided, audiences responded positively, helping the romantic drama become the sixth highest-grossing Bollywood release of 2026.
Its digital release is now expected to introduce the film to an even wider audience.
A Fresh Love Triangle
Unlike the 2012 film starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty, Cocktail 2 does not continue the earlier story. Instead, it explores a new relationship drama built around trust, friendship and unexpected emotions.
The story revolves around Kunal and Diya, a couple who travel to Sicily hoping to escape constant pressure from their families to settle down.
Things take an unexpected turn when Diya asks her free-spirited friend Ally to flirt with Kunal as a way of testing his loyalty. What begins as an innocent experiment soon spirals into an emotional dilemma after Ally develops genuine feelings for him, leaving all three characters caught in a complicated situation.
The film examines modern relationships through a mix of romance, humour and emotional conflict, while staying rooted in Homi Adajania’s signature storytelling style.
First-Time Pairing Generates Excitement
One of the biggest talking points surrounding Cocktail 2 has been its lead cast. The film marks the first on-screen collaboration between Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon, a combination that generated considerable buzz even before its theatrical release.
