An Indian billionaire family is set to host a lavish wedding in Vietnam’s Nha Trang, with the event expected to cost more than 130 billion Vietnamese dong (VND) which equals to Rs 47.36 crore, , according
to a report by Vietnam.vn.
The wedding is scheduled to take place in December and is expected to attract more than 1,400 guests, according to the organisers.
1,400 Guests To Arrive By Charter Flights
On August 8, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province confirmed that they are coordinating with relevant agencies, units and businesses to ensure the Indian billionaire family’s “super wedding” takes place successfully in Nha Trang.
Phan Quang Dai, General Director of Blue Lemon Vietnam Co. Ltd, which is working with international partners to organise the large-scale wedding, said guests will fly directly from India to Cam Ranh Airport in Khanh Hoa.
“They will stay for four nights at a luxury resort in Nha Trang to participate in the wedding receptions,” Dai said.
According to Dai, the event is expected to be the largest Indian wedding ever held in Vietnam. It will surpass the scale of earlier Indian weddings organised in Da Nang, which had between 300 and 500 guests.
Chefs To Be Flown In From India
The wedding is also expected to feature cuisine prepared by a team brought directly from India.
The billionaire family will bring its own team of chefs from India to prepare food for the guests during their stay.
The organisers are working with several government agencies to ensure the event proceeds smoothly. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, the Provincial People’s Committee, Customs, Immigration and the Provincial Police are providing support and coordination.
Why Nha Trang Is Attracting Indian Weddings
The Khanh Hoa Provincial Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion considers India a potential tourism market, with a population of more than 1.4 billion people.
Indian tourists have varied spending patterns, ranging from budget travellers to a large number of high-end visitors with significant spending power.
The wedding tourism segment is also growing rapidly in India. An estimated 4.8 million weddings are expected during the 2024-2025 season, generating around $68 billion in revenue.
Khanh Hoa Eyes High-End Wedding Tourism
Khanh Hoa is expected to become an attractive destination for India’s high-end wedding market because of its natural landscapes, modern tourism infrastructure and world-class resort services.
The upcoming wedding in Nha Trang, with more than 1,400 guests staying at a luxury resort for four nights, is expected to be the largest Indian wedding held in Vietnam so far.
