China is known for doing things differently, and a spa in Harbin is now grabbing attention for its unusual ideas. A man recently shared his experience from the Maple Leaf Village Hot Spring Resort, showing
spa pools that look nothing like normal ones. One of the most surprising pools is designed like a giant hot pot and is filled with real jalapenos.
The spa also has a pool filled with thousands of Orbeez, where visitors can float and relax like kids again. Another highlight is the fish spa, where small fish eat dead skin from the feet. Since Harbin is famous for freezing weather, the resort offers warm outdoor hot tubs even when temperatures drop below zero. There are also pools mixed with herbs and flowers meant to care for the skin. After pools, visitors can enjoy a sauna, restrooms and food areas. All this costs just $28 (approximately Rs 2500).
China’s Unusual Spa Experience Goes Viral
Taking to Instagram, the man shared, “There is a hot pot spa in China, and it’s the craziest thing I’ve seen. Not only is it filled with real Jalapenos and peppers, but the water is even red on one side, while the other is milky and filled with other vegetables, and that’s just one of many spas here. There’s also a pool filled with Orbeez. All of my childhood dreams are coming true. There are hundreds of thousands of Orbeez in here, and I could float around all day.
Seriously, so much fun, but I had to hop out because there’s also a fish spa. Normally, when you see these, there will be a few fish eating the skin off your feet. I was surrounded by fish on every inch of my feet. It is a crazy feeling, and my feet actually feel better after.”
“This spa is located in Harbin, China, which is also home to the world’s largest ice festival, so, of course, there is an arctic spa indoors and a nice 103-degree hot tub outdoors among the snow. It’s minus 15 degrees here today, so this felt so good. What’s also unique about this spa is that they have pools infused with different herbs and flowers that heal and protect your skin, from hibiscus to herbal tea, leaves and roses.
There are all sorts of different colours of water, and my skin actually felt great after soaking in this water. Once you are done with the pools, you can enter into a giant dome sauna, a nap room or a food hall. It only costs $28 to visit here, and this is my new favourite spa I’ve ever been to,” he added.
Internet Reacts with Curiosity And Fun
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “This is so wild. need to visit one day.”
Another shared, “I literally just had hotpot last week and said, ‘wouldn’t it be funny if you could have hotpot while in a hot tub’.”
“A dream destination,” a comment read.
An individual stated, “Japan has spa places like this. Not exactly the same but close.”
Another mentioned, “I peed in the orbeez.”
One more added, “Those are not jalapenos. Sometimes those ones can be a bit spicy, but sometimes they can be just like a bell pepper.”
Maple Leaf Village Hot Spring Resort opened in October 2025 in Harbin, located in China’s Heilongjiang Province.
