Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is once again making headlines, but this time it has nothing to do with a new film. The director has added a striking new vehicle to his growing car collection, and it is hard to miss.
Known for his love for powerful machines, Shetty has brought home a GMC Hummer EV, one of the most talked-about electric SUVs in the world.
The new addition fits perfectly with Shetty’s larger-than-life image. From explosive action scenes to dramatic car stunts, his films often reflect his taste for scale and strength. The Hummer EV, with its bold design and massive road presence, mirrors that same energy and has already caught attention on Indian roads.
The GMC Hummer EV Stands Out On Indian Roads
The GMC Hummer EV is an all-electric SUV that looks nothing like a regular city car. It has a strong, boxy build and a commanding stance that makes it instantly noticeable. Even though GMC has not officially launched the Hummer EV in India, a few units have reportedly entered the country through private importers.
These dealers bring in fully built models after making right-hand-drive changes and completing legal formalities. Due to this limited route, the Hummer EV has become one of the most exclusive electric vehicles in India.
Why The Hummer EV Costs So Much In India
The high price of the GMC Hummer EV in India is mainly due to heavy import duties and conversion costs. While earlier reports suggested a wider price range based on variants, the versions currently seen on Indian roads are usually fully loaded models.
Ex-showroom prices for the top-spec 3X variant generally range reportedly from Rs 3.50 crore to Rs 3.85 crore. Once registration and other charges are added, the on-road price often crosses Rs 4 crore in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune. Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty’s Hummer EV is said to be worth around Rs 4.57 crore.
Key Specs and Performance Details of the GMC Hummer EV
The GMC Hummer EV offers more than just a bold design. It delivers strong performance for an electric SUV, with a large battery and rapid acceleration, going from 0 to 60 mph in about 2.8 seconds despite its heavy build. Globally, the vehicle is recognised for its advanced drive modes, four-wheel steering system, and solid off-road capabilities.
It also comes with advanced tech, large digital screens, and a premium interior, making it both rugged and luxurious.
Rohit Shetty’s Love For Powerful Cars
Rohit Shetty has always been open about his passion for cars. Over the years, he has built an impressive garage that includes vehicles like the Ford Mustang, Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz AMG G63, Lamborghini Urus, and more. Many of these cars are often seen on his social media, and his films frequently feature dramatic car chases inspired by his personal interest.
On the work front, Shetty was last seen directing Singham Again. He is now reportedly working on a new action film based on the life of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria, with John Abraham and Tamannaah Bhatia said to be part of the cast.
