The BJP gave a strong response to opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav’s “no CM face” jibe at the ruling NDA in Bihar, with a vote of confidence for ally Nitish Kumar.
Tejashwi Yadav, who is the chief ministerial
candidate of the Mahagathbandhan, claimed that the BJP will not make Nitish Kumar the chief minister if the NDA returns to power after the assembly elections.
Hitting out at Tejashwi over the remark, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said he should “first take care of his own house”.
“Nitish Kumar was, is, and will remain the chief minister. Tejashwi should first take care of his own house,” Prasad said while addressing a press conference after the INDIA bloc released its election manifesto, ‘Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran’, on Tuesday.
Prasad said he heard the RJD leader’s manifesto and wondered if it belonged to the Mahagathbandhan or was his personal document. He pointed out that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s picture was missing from the resolution.
“This is a bundle of hollow promises, and even those who drafted it know they won’t form the government, so what’s the harm in making big claims? The RJD is a school of corruption, that’s their past, present, and future,” he said.
