Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said he and his cousin Raj Thackeray would remain united and would not part ways after coming together ahead of the upcoming civic elections in Maharashtra.
Speaking to PTI in an interview, Uddhav Thackeray said questions about the longevity of their alliance were irrelevant. “Earlier, people used to ask why we were not together. Now they are asking why we have come together and for how long we will stay together,” he said.
“These things don’t matter. We have come together after much thought and understanding. Now, we will never part ways and will stay united,” he added.
Marking their first political alliance in nearly two decades, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray last month announced a tie-up ahead of the January 15 civic polls in Mumbai and 28 other municipal corporations across Maharashtra.
