The highly anticipated War 2, which will see Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR share the screen for the first time, is set to feature an unexpected addition to its cast. While rumours had been swirling that Salman
Khan’s Tiger or Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan might appear in the film’s end credits, insiders confirm that neither superstar will make a cameo. Instead, audiences will be introduced to a new character played by Bobby Deol.
No Tiger or Pathaan cameo in War 2
According to sources close to the production, War 2 will not feature direct appearances from the YRF Spy Universe’s leading agents, Tiger or Pathaan, though both will be referenced during key moments in the storyline.
“War 2 won’t feature either of Tiger or Pathaan, however, their names will be used at some key junctures of the film. The end credit sequence of War 2 will act as a build up for the next chapter of YRF Spy Universe – Alpha. Aditya Chopra is staying true to his vision of continuing the story forward, rather than opting for gimmicks by bringing all 3 superstars in the same film. He is reserving the union of all 3 superstars for a mega project, which is in the development stage,” the source told Bollywood Hungama.
Bobby Deol’s entry as a new villain
While Salman and Shah Rukh’s absence may surprise some fans, the film will use the opportunity to introduce Bobby Deol in a major way. “With War 2, Aditya Chopra will be establishing Bobby Deol to the Universe. It’s an epic introduction to Bobby Deol’s character, who is one of the main villains in the timeline going forward. Aditya Chopra is known to go against the tide, and instead of establishing his two female leads of Alpha – Alia Bhatt and Sharvari – he is going ahead by unleashing the negative force of the film, Bobby Deol,” the source added.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 marks the sixth chapter of the YRF Spy Universe and is expected to set the stage for Alpha, the next major entry in the franchise. The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on August 14, 2025. It stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani.
