Mumbai needed just 23 balls on Sunday to score his first half-century of the ongoing season. The half-century by Rohit in the 221-run chase against KKR has helped him become the fourth batter in IPL history to record 50 scores of 50+ runs.
Rohit, who is playing his 274th match in the IPL on Sunday, has scored two centuries and 48 fifties in the world’s richest franchise league. The record of most 50+ scores in the IPL is in the name of Virat Kohli. In 268 matches for RCB since making his IPL debut on April 18, 2008, against Kolkata Knight Riders, Virat has crossed the 50-run mark 72 times. He has 8 centuries and 64 fifties to his name in the IPL.
In the list of batters with the most 50+ scores in the IPL, Kohli is followed by David Warner of Australia and India’s Shikhar Dhawan.

Before becoming fourth batter to register 50 scores of 50 runs in the IPL, Rohit became first Indian cricketer to hit 550 sixes in the 20-over format of the game.
