More about Dhurandhar 2
With less than two days to go for its March 19 release, Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar 2 is witnessing unprecedented momentum in advance bookings. The Aditya Dhar directorial has crossed a major milestone globally, selling over a million tickets ahead of release, making it the biggest premiere in Indian cinema history so far. The film has already sold close to 15 lakh tickets across India before its release.
Given this overwhelming response, theatres are going all in. Many cinema halls across the country are increasing show counts, adding late-night slots, and even scheduling post-midnight screenings. Such is the craze that Mumbai’s most iconic cinema, Maratha Mandir, which is known for its uninterrupted 30-year run of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, has moved the film’s traditional screentime to accommodate Dhurandhar 2’s extended runtime.
Coming to the film itself, Dhurandhar 2 picks up from where the first film ended. It will see Ranveer Singh’s Hamza Ali Mazari’s rise to power in Pakistan’s criminal world. Besides, the film will also explore his journey from becoming Jaskirat Singh Rangi to Hamza, who infiltrates Pakistan as a spy to avenge the terrorist attacks in the nation. The original film was a massive success, earning around Rs 1300 crore globally and running in theatres for months.
