At least 10 prominent schools in Ahmedabad received bomb threat emails on Wednesday, triggering panic and prompting the authorities to step up security measures. However, the threat email later turned
out to be a hoax as nothing suspicious was found during searches, police said.
Zone 1 Deputy Police Commissioner Harshad Patel said that these schools declared a holiday for the afternoon shift as a precautionary measure, since the morning shift had already concluded by the time the emails were received, news agency PTI reported.
According to officials, the schools received an email containing the message, “We will take revenge.” Given the threatening nature of the communication, the school authorities immediately alerted the police, leading to rapid deployment of security teams to the campuses.
