Israel’s Defence Minister on Tuesday has said that Khamenei aide and Iran’s National Security Chief Ali Larijani was killed in an overnight airstrike, AFP reported.
Initial reports had said Larijani was
targeted in the strike, but it was unclear whether he had been killed or injured. There has been no immediate confirmation from Iranian authorities.
Iran’s top commander Gholamreza Soleimani has also been eliminated in an Israeli airstrike. “Under precise intelligence guidance, the Air Force carried out a targeted strike yesterday in the heart of Tehran, eliminating Gholam Reza Soleimani, commander of the Basij unit over the past six years,” Israeli Air Force tweeted.
The Iran war is on its 18th day today. Ali Larijani on Monday penned a note to Muslim countries, questioning their lack of support for Tehran as the US-Israeli war enters its third week with no clear end in sight. The conflict has disrupted global energy supplies and raised fears of a spike in global inflation.
