Sharing her thoughts on Kapoor’s performance, Bhatt did not hold back her praise. “It’s absolutely fabulous. I think Ranbir has just done such a beautiful job and I just can’t wait for you guys to see it.” she concluded, “It’s just out of this world.”
Kapoor, who has been among the industry’s most prominent actors in recent years, is set to take on one of Indian mythology’s most revered characters in the film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Speaking earlier at the launch, the actor reflected on the deeper meaning of the role, explaining the significance of Lord Rama beyond mythology.
He said, “Ram has been the conscious keeper of billions of people around the globe for centuries and long after. He enlightens us about the human spirit in terms of adversities. He stands for compassion, for courage, for righteousness and forgiveness. He is called Maryada Purushottam, which stands for an ideal man.”
The film aims to present the epic on a global scale, combining large-scale storytelling with an ensemble cast. Alongside Kapoor, Sai Pallavi will portray Sita, while Yash takes on the role of Ravana and is also attached as a co-producer. Ravi Dubey has confirmed his role as Lakshman.
Backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the project is planned as a two-part release. The first instalment is scheduled for Diwali 2026, with the sequel expected to arrive in Diwali 2027.
Apart from Ramayana, Kapoor is also set to appear in Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, alongside Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
