The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday levelled serious allegations against its leader Raghav Chadha, claiming that he met senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and sought an Enforcement Directorate
(ED) raid against party colleague and MP Ashok Kumar Mittal.
AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar made the claims during a press briefing and also shared details of her remarks on social media platform X. She alleged that Chadha had, in a recent meeting with top BJP leaders, requested action against Mittal and also sought Z+ security cover for himself.
“A few days ago, Raghav Chadha had a meeting with the top leaders of the BJP. In this meeting, he requested a raid on the premises of our Deputy Leader in the Upper House, Ashok Mittal Ji, and sought Z+ security for himself. He was indeed granted this security,” Kakkar wrote on X.

She further alleged that Chadha, who was elevated to the Rajya Sabha by AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, was now acting against the party. “Today, Raghav Chadha Ji is plotting a conspiracy against the Aam Aadmi Party. As an AAP worker, I would like to tell him not to do this,” she added.

The allegations come on a day when the Enforcement Directorate conducted searches against AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Kumar Mittal and educational institutions linked to him and his family in Punjab and Haryana as part of a Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) investigation.
Officials said around 10 locations in Jalandhar, nearby areas, and Gurugram were searched, including premises linked to Lovely Professional University in Phagwara and two educational institutions in Gurugram. The probe reportedly involves certain overseas financial transactions connected to the institutions.
Mittal was recently appointed Deputy Leader of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Rajya Sabha, replacing MP Raghav Chadha. He is also the Chancellor of LPU. His son, Pratham Mittal, is associated with the Gurugram-based educational institutions.
A response from the institutions has not been issued so far.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann condemned the ED action, alleging it was politically motivated ahead of elections. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal also criticised the raids, accusing the Centre of misusing central agencies.
