Preity Zinta’s work front
The actress will be returning to acting with Lahore 1947. She will be seen next to Sunny Deol. Rumours about a possible title change for Sunny Deol’s upcoming film Lahore 1947 have been doing the rounds online, but producer Aamir Khan has now addressed the speculation. The actor-producer confirmed that the film continues to retain its original title and that no decision has been made to rename it.
The period drama, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and backed by Aamir Khan Productions, has been generating considerable anticipation among fans. Recent reports had suggested that the makers were considering renaming the film Batwara 1947 in order to avoid potential controversy. However, Aamir dismissed those claims when senior journalist Subhash K Jha asked him about the speculation.
“Where did you hear that? No, the title of our film has not changed. As of now, it is Lahore 1947, and that’s how I would like it to be.”
The film is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on August 13, 2026, just ahead of the Independence Day weekend. For now, the project appears to have a largely clear release window, as Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla has reportedly been postponed.
