The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) launched two initiatives on Thursday, August 7. The first is the CBSE Career Guidance Dashboard, and the second is the CBSE Counseling Hub and Spoke Model.
These initiatives aim to enhance career preparation and psycho-social support for students in the academic session 2025-26.
The Career Guidance Dashboard equips students with tools and resources for informed career exploration, while CBSE’s Counseling Hub and Spoke School Model seeks to strengthen mental health support systems. This model operates through a network of CBSE Mentor Hub Schools collaborating with Spoke Schools.
Both initiatives were launched at the CBSE Integrated Office, Sector 23, Dwarka, New Delhi. More than 500 participants, including principals, counselors, wellness teachers, and education experts, attended the event. CBSE Chairman IAS Rahul Singh mentioned that both initiatives align with the National Education Policy 2020 and are based on technology and sustainable development.
CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta, IAS, emphasised the importance of organised mental health support and praised schools for their role in guiding students through academic and career challenges. The event also featured panel discussions, including a session by CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj on the reforms implemented post-NEP 2020.
Representatives from various schools shared experiences of integrating career and mental wellness initiatives.
The Career Guidance Dashboard, accessible at cbsecareerguidance.in, is now live. A special session provided details on the CBSE Counseling Hub and Spoke Model, outlining its implementation protocols, responsibilities, and monitoring mechanisms.
“Anchored in the vision of NEP 2020, these initiatives aim to enhance the quality and accessibility of both career guidance and psychosocial support. They also focus on building institutional capacities among educators, counselors, and wellness teachers,” reads the official notice.
“We therefore request all schools to actively implement CBSE Counseling Hub & Spoke School Model and utilise the career guidance resource for nurturing well-rounded, future-ready learners through sustained guidance and emotional support,” the notice added.
