Bengaluru Airport recently got a T2 Garden Trail — a green-themed public space at Terminal 2 (T2) of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) designed to make the airport experience more relaxing and pleasant.
Here’s all you need to know.
What is the T2 Garden Trail?
The Garden Trail is a nature-inspired gallery and walking area inside Terminal 2 meant for travellers to pause, unwind and enjoy greenery before departure or after arrival — offering a calming escape from the usual hustle of an airport.
It reflects Bengaluru’s identity as the “Garden City,” integrating plants, natural textures and soft lighting to create a soothing environment.
The trail emphasises biophilic design — bringing nature inside the terminal to reduce travel anxiety and make waits more pleasant.

Where is it located?
The Garden Trail is in the post-customs area of the T2 international terminal, accessible to travellers moving through immigration or just leaving the airport.
The design
It features lush greenery and calming open spaces, blending with Terminal 2’s broader “terminal in a garden” design concept.
This concept carries throughout T2 with indoor gardens, green walls, hanging plant installations and landscaped pathways that enhance air quality and passenger experience.
Why it matters
The Garden Trail is part of a wider effort to make T2 more than just a transit hub — a place of rest, beauty and connection to nature.
About Kempegowda International Airport (KIA)
It is the primary international airport serving Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka, and one of the busiest and most modern airports in India. It is located in Devanahalli, about 40 km north of Bengaluru city
The Terminal 1 (T1) handles most domestic flights and some international operations. Terminal 2 (T2) has opened in phases from 2022 onwards.
It is often compared to Singapore’s Changi Airport owing to its nature-first design, and concepts like the “Terminal in a Garden” and T2 Garden Trail.
Singapore’s Changi Airport is known for its iconic Jewel Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall surrounded by the lush Shiseido Forest Valley; multiple themed gardens such as the Butterfly Garden, Sunflower Garden, Cactus Garden, and Orchid Garden; extensive use of natural light, water features, and tropical landscaping across terminals; and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions that create a calming, resort-like atmosphere.
