For many people, celebrity visits to India are exciting. But when the visitor is someone who has spent hundreds of days in space, the excitement feels very different. That is exactly what happened when Indian-origin
astronaut Sunita Williams recently visited Kerala and was spotted doing something unexpectedly relatable.
Williams was seen enjoying a chilled falooda at a dessert outlet in Kozhikode. The casual moment was captured on camera and the video of it soon made its way online.

At one point, she briefly mixes up kulfi and ice cream, but the people around her gently correct her, telling her it’s falooda.

The outlet also shared their excitement in the caption, writing, “An unreal moment we will never forget. What an absolute honour to welcome Sunita Williams to Falooda Nation. From space to our store, we’re still in awe. So blessed and so proud to share our flavours with her.”

A Look At Sunita Williams’s Journey
Williams recently retired from NASA after an extraordinary 27-year career. She was selected as an astronaut in 1998 and went on to spend a total of 608 days in space across three missions. It is the second-highest cumulative time spent in space by any NASA astronaut.
She holds the record for the most spacewalk time by a female astronaut as she has completed nine spacewalks that added up to 62 hours and 6 minutes. She was also the first person to run a marathon while in space.
Williams first flew to space in December 2006 aboard Space Shuttle Discovery. Her second mission began in July 2012 when she launched from Kazakhstan and later served as the commander of the International Space Station. Her final mission took place in June 2024 aboard Boeing’s Starliner, after which she returned to Earth in March 2025.
