Sometimes, the internet doesn’t need drama, stunts, or perfectly timed punchlines to feel wholesome. All it takes is a teacher, a group of schoolchildren and one casual comment that becomes a daily act
of affection.
A video shared on Instagram by Teach For India educator Deepali Dahikamble is currently doing the rounds for exactly that reason. In the clip, Dahikamble shares how a casual conversation with her students led to a habit that now seems to be part of their everyday routine.
Students Bring Fruit For Teacher
According to reports, Dahikamble teaches at schools in remote parts of Bengaluru as part of her fellowship. During a light chat with her students, she once mentioned she enjoys eating fruits. What she didn’t expect was how seriously the children would take it.
From the very next day, the students began arriving with fruits for her, not as a one-off gift, but as a regular gesture.
“Now, every day during my lunch break, I see them standing by the staff room window, quietly handing the fruits,” she says in a text overlay in the reel. In the video, the children can be seen passing the fruits through the staff room window.
There are no rehearsed lines or prompting, and no sense that the children are performing for the camera. It’s just a routine they have embraced because it makes their teacher happy.

How Did The Internet React?
The reel has already clocked over 340K views, with users flooding the comments section to celebrate the children’s thoughtfulness and the bond they share with their teacher. Some reactions focused on the sweetness of the moment, while others pointed to how such gestures often reflect the emotional safety and care students experience in the classroom.
“Never settle for less because this is how your children treat you,” wrote one user.
Another said, “Cutest thing I have witnessed today. Such a blessing to be their teacher!”
One of the comments read, “Casually mentioning something you like and they take it seriously. This is the best gift we get as teachers.”
“Students are a blessing,” commented another user.
One viewer said, “If that’s not the sweetest thing anyone could ever experience, what is!”
In a world full of loud online trends, this video stands out because of its simplicity. It shows that kindness doesn’t need a big moment. Sometimes, it’s just the small gestures that matter most.
