A NEET-UG aspirant was reportedly left stunned after discovering that his admit card for the June 21 re-examination listed an exam centre not in Maharashtra, but in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The unexpected allocation
sparked confusion and concern within the family, who claim they never selected an international test centre during the application process.
According to a post, the candidate, identified as Abdullah Mohammad Talib, discovered the exam location after downloading his admit card.
Sharing the family’s account, ANI quoted the aspirant’s father, Mohammad Talib, as saying, “After the admit card was downloaded at 4 pm yesterday, we found the Centre mentioned to be a school in Abu Dhabi. We were really shocked as we had not given anything as such in our options.”
The father further revealed that the development had deeply affected his son. “But his mother tried to convince him. If he is convinced, he will appear for the exam. He does not even have a passport,” he said.
The admit card image circulated online reportedly listed the examination venue as: “SALAMA BINT BUTTI STREET: 23 RD MUROOR ROAD; ABU DHABI, UAE: PIN – 46492-46492-46492.”
As the matter gained attention on social media, the National Testing Agency (NTA) responded to the complaint. Addressing the issue, the examination body stated that corrective action was being taken.

“The grievance is being addressed and the candidate will be allocated a centre in Nagpur, after due verification, in the next few hours,” the NTA said in a statement posted online.
The incident comes amid heightened scrutiny of the NEET-UG examination process following a major paper leak controversy. The NTA had ordered a re-examination after widespread irregularities were detected in the conduct of the original test.
Meanwhile, the post about the Nagpur student’s alleged centre allocation sparked widespread discussion online, with several users expressing frustration over the recurring issues surrounding the examination process.
One user wrote, “What a Shame !!! Never thought a competitive exam be flared up so much. By doing this automatically pressure on these kids is being piled up. It’s like even if the kid goes to toilet the media will publish it. Such news brings only bad reputation to the nation.”
Another commented, “Why can’t @NTA_Exams allot the same exam center candidates were assigned previously? It would reduce confusion and be more convenient for both students and exam authorities. Repeated issues and last-minute changes increase stress, impact students’ mental well-being, and erode trust in India’s examination system. Students deserve better.”
Expressing concern over the alleged error, a third user said, “If this is true, it’s a shocking level of negligence. Assigning an NEET aspirant an exam centre in Abu Dhabi is unacceptable. Students deserve fairness and support—not chaos, confusion, and unnecessary stress. #NEETUG.”
Others questioned whether the incident could have been caused by a technical or application-related mistake. “Isn’t center allocation automated? If yes, candidate may have put Abu Dhabhi option and not realized, if it is manual then surprising why they do it manually still,” one user remarked.

Several commenters were more critical of the examination authorities. “These are not errors. These are blunders and crimes which can ruin someone’s complete life,” one person wrote.
Another user added, “Who so ever is looking after NEET administration needs to be sacked. Just too much issues happening around 1 agency. You cannot always move away saying tech glitch. Ppl getting centres ovs or 1000s of km away this is reflecting badly on govt.”
Questioning the delay in resolving such matters, another commenter said, “Why couldn’t it be changed immediately? How will one go to another city at the last moment if given out of nagpur ? Why can’t they understand such a simple thing?”
