It will not be Alia Bhatt vs Salman Khan at the box office in April 2026. The makers of the actress’ upcoming movie, Alpha, have decided to change the release date of the film. The movie, which was initially
supposed to hit theatres on April 17, will soon get a new release date.
On Saturday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and revealed that the decision has been taken to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s Battle Of Galwan.
“#BreakingNews… ‘ALPHA’ AVOIDS CLASH WITH ‘BATTLE OF GALWAN’ – YRF TO DECIDE ON NEW DATE… #AdityaChopra steps aside for #SalmanKhan, moving #Alpha from its earlier announced release date of 17 April 2026 to avoid a direct clash with #BattleOfGalwan,” he wrote.
“#YRF had locked 17 April 2026 for #Alpha, but the makers will now announce a new release date after assessing the theatrical release calendar over the next couple of months,” the trade analyst added.

This is not the first time that Alpha has been postponed. The film was originally supposed to hit theatres on Christmas 2025. However, it was pushed to April 2026 since the makers were still working on it.
Besides Alia Bhatt, YRF’s Alpha also stars Sharvari and Bobby Deol in key roles. Fans got a glimpse of Alpha in War 2’s post-credit scene. In the sequence, Bobby Deol made a surprise appearance, marking his official entry into the Spy Universe. The scene showed him stamping the logo of an agency on a young girl’s hand. When the girl asked what it meant, Bobby’s character answered, “Alpha.” He explained that Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and their program’s motto: “The first, the fastest, the strongest.”
