Alia Bhatt has announced her new movie, Don’t Be Shy. On Thursday, the actress attended Prime Video’s 2026 lineup announcement event in Mumbai, where she revealed that she will be producing the film with
her sister, Shaheen Bhatt.
During the event, it was revealed that Don’t Be Shy follows the story of Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, a 20-year-old girl who thinks she has everything figured out until her perfectly planned life takes an unpredictable turn, and things begin to spiral out of her control.
While the film is an Eternal Sunshine Production, in association with Chalkboard Entertainment, it will be directed by Sreeti Mukerji. More details about the project are awaited.
This is not the first time Alia Bhatt is producing a film. Previously, the actress also co-produced her 2022 movie Darlings with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Later, she also produced her action-thriller movie, Jigra. It was co-produced with Dharma Productions and Viacom18.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in Love and War. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film will also star Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in the lead.
Previously, Alia had expressed her excitement about the movie in an interview with News18 Showsha. “I, as an audience, am more excited to see him [Bhansali] and Ranbir collaborate, again, after so many years. I am like, ‘wow, what’s that going to be like?” Talking about reuniting with Vicky Kaushal, Alia continued by saying, “Vicky and I coming together again; Ranbir and Vicky created magic with Sanju. So, it is a lot of combinations,” she had said.
Love and War has become one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s costliest projects. Sources close to the production recently revealed to Pinkvilla that one of the primary reasons behind the delay is the sheer scale of Love and War. The film reportedly features expansive aerial action sequences that require heavy visual effects work. Given the complexity of these scenes, the VFX process is expected to be time-consuming.
