these appliances. Against this backdrop, a potentially serious accident was narrowly averted in Khairinaka village near Narsinghpur in Madhya Pradesh.
On Tuesday afternoon, an induction stove suddenly exploded with a loud bang while food was being prepared in a home. At the time of the incident, a mother and her two children were present in the kitchen. Fortunately, no one sustained any injuries.
Incident Occurred While Making Khichdi
According to reports, the woman was cooking khichdi on the induction stove. As she attempted to remove the pot, the glass surface of the appliance shattered with a loud explosion. The induction stove had been purchased only six months ago, raising concerns about its sudden malfunction.
It is believed that the explosion may have been caused by overheating of the induction stove. The incident has once again brought attention to the importance of using electronic kitchen appliances with proper care.
Housewife Seema Jat stated that due to the shortage of gas cylinders, she had been using the induction stove for several days. On the day of the incident, she was preparing khichdi. After releasing the pressure from the cooker and opening it, the stove suddenly burst. She suspects that excessive heat may have led to the explosion.
She and her children were in the kitchen at the time, but fortunately escaped unharmed.
Rising Use Of Induction Stoves
With gas supplies becoming uncertain, many households are turning to induction stoves as an alternative. However, experts and manufacturers caution that these appliances must be used carefully to avoid accidents.
Induction stoves operate differently from traditional gas burners. They use electromagnetic technology to heat cookware directly, which means only induction-compatible utensils should be used. Companies recommend using pots made of specific metals that function efficiently on induction surfaces.
Additionally, induction stoves heat up very quickly. Setting the temperature too high at the beginning can lead to food burning and may also put excessive strain on the appliance.
Manufacturers advise starting at a low temperature and gradually increasing it as needed for safer and more effective cooking.
