Flying often gives passengers glimpses of the world from above but sometimes the view takes your breath away. On one Kenya Airways flight, travellers were treated to a truly rare sight: a full view of Africa’s
tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, rising majestically from the clouds.
Passengers got this rare treat all because of Captain Ahmed who adjusted the flight path to bring the plane closer to Kilimanjaro.
Mount Kilimanjaro From The Sky
The plane passed near Kilimanjaro and the sight of its snow-capped peak left everyone in awe. Towering above the surrounding landscape, the mountain’s three volcanic cones (Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira) can be seen clearly.
Eric Thimba, who shared the video online, wrote, “Major shout out to Captain Ahmed of Kenya Airways who took the scenic route so we could see the top of the tallest mountain in Africa, Mt Kilimanjaro. What a stunning sight!”
