Chennai Super Kings will be aiming to turn things around when they host Delhi Capitals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday after having succumbed to three defeats on the bounce in IPL
2026.
Dewald Brevis, the South African starlet who missed the opening three games for the five-time champions owing to a side-strain could make his return against the Capital City side at home.
Speaking on Ashwin’s Youtube channel, Brevis said, “I’m feeling great. For me as an youngster who loves the game, it is tough be on the sidelines,” he said.
“But, it has made me more hungry, and I’ve worked on a couple of things off the field in terms of strengthening and I feel good,” the Protea batter added.
“I had a good training session yesterday, and the ball was going off the bat in a lovely manner, so I’m excited” he said.
The Protea batter will give Chennai some much needed bite in the middle and has the ability to seize victory for the side.
CSK began their campaign with a defeat to Rajasthan Royals, followed by a home loss against Punjab Kings. They then suffered a third consecutive setback away to defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, leaving them winless after three outings.
Delhi, in contrast, opened their season with two impressive victories over Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium, before convincingly beating Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in their second match. However, DC then endured a painful defeat at home to Gujarat Titans in their third fixture, as GT snatched a one-run win after seemingly being on the brink of defeat.
DC now return to the road to face a CSK side desperate to earn their first points of the season in the cash-rich T20 league, while Delhi look to strengthen their position among the early frontrunners with a win on Saturday.
