The newly released Jeffrey Epstein files include references to what are described as “massage techniques” and Ayurveda from India. The US Justice Department on Friday made public thousands of documents
related to the late convicted sex offender after President Donald Trump signed a bill last month mandating their release within 30 days.
The disclosure comes amid political controversy, with Democrats mounting a major campaign demanding the release of files linked to the wealthy financier, who was known for his connections with some of the world’s most influential figures. Trump, who had been friends with Epstein for years before a falling out, has faced scrutiny over that association.
Among the exhibits released, one document refers to the use of massages and Ayurveda for detoxification. “Many practitioners in the West are now offering massage and other treatments based upon this 5,000-year-old system of natural healing from India,” it states, PTI reported. The files also include articles titled ‘The Art of Giving Massage’, which mention the use of sesame oil for detoxification.
The release contains only a limited number of photographs of Trump, and the Justice Department acknowledged that the disclosure of documents was incomplete. The files feature several photographs of former US president Bill Clinton, as well as an image of Epstein with the late pop star Michael Jackson. Neither Trump nor Clinton has ever been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
Epstein died by suicide in a Manhattan jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges alleging that he sexually abused and trafficked dozens of underage girls.
