Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, starring Vir Das, has finally been cleared by the CBFC, and ahead of its release on January 16, the movie has received an ‘A’ certification from the film body. A picture
of the film’s certification, shared by Vir Das, shows that the almost two-hour-long film has received an ‘A’ certificate from the CBFC.
The picture of the certification that is now going viral shows that not much, but a total of five changes, have been demanded by the Central Board from the Aamir Khan-backed project.
While sharing the picture of the movie certification, the famous stand-up comedian shared, “Not a good student, only A I’ve EVER received 🙏”. Along with this, he also announced that the advance bookings of the film are set to open from tomorrow, i.e., January 14, and wrote, “#HappyPatel Jan 16! Advance bookings open TOMORROW!”
Aamir Khan Productions has consistently set benchmarks with impactful and innovative films such as Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, Dangal, and Secret Superstar. Carrying forward this legacy, the banner reunites with acclaimed stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das for Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos. Known for his globally celebrated comedy specials and memorable performances in Go Goa Gone, Badmaash Company, and Delhi Belly, this film marks Vir Das’ second collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions after the cult classic Delhi Belly, making it one of the most eagerly awaited projects from the banner.
Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos marks the directorial debut of actor-comedian Vir Das, who also plays the lead role. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, Mithila Palkar, Srushti Tawade, and Imran Khan, who makes his return to the big screen after a long hiatus.
With its theatrical release just days away, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos has already scored an important win, with the Madras High Court issuing an anti-piracy injunction in favour of Aamir Khan Films, the production banner backing the Hindi spy comedy. The order comes ahead of the film’s scheduled release on January 16 and is aimed at preventing unauthorised circulation or broadcast of the movie before it hits theatres.
